Gloss is a digital photography series that brings light to the hyper masculine culture within the African American Community. Black people aren't often granted the luxury to comfortably explore their femininity, especially black men and darker skinned black women because of the unfair stereotypes imposed on them under white supremacy. By using pink overtones and a soft, dream like editing style, Kayla provides a space for black people to exist in their femininity comfortably and without consequence.
