Inspired by Beyonce’s song “Cozy”, this work uses a combination of digital painting and design elements to represent Kayla’s journey with building self esteem and creating a positive self image. Kayla has always struggled with low self esteem, which would sometimes result in major depressive episodes that would lead to suicidal thoughts, and in extreme cases, suicide attempts. After years of combatting this, Kayla begins to accept herself and become comfortable with who she is. 

Kayla’s decision to portray a zoomed in self portrait using warm, pink hues, depicts her comfort with her features, and the new found love she has developed for herself as she continues to grow.
